The £1.7 Million Haircut is a documentary film like no other about suicide. Where a barber lost a friend, discovered a hidden injustice and started a global movement.

It has been five years since barber and educator Tom Chapman lost a friend to suicide. During this time he uncovered a hidden injustice. That too many men think they have nowhere to turn. That they have no-one to talk to about their mental health. That they are too often lost to suicide (75% of all suicides in the UK are male). This new documentary follows Tom’s story of how barbers can save lives one haircut at a time.

A feature length film

Wonder Associates delivered the entire film making process from written treatments to scripting, crew and cast management, multi-location shoots, post-production, graphics, mastering and distribution. It was shot over 7 months in locations across the UK and edited in our Devon studio. We also created a website for the film, go to https://the1point7millionpoundhaircut.com/. All profits from the film will go directly to The Lions Barber Collective charity to continue their work for a world free from suicide.

“I want to help those people who take a permanent solution to a temporary problem“

— Tom Chapman, Presenter of The £1.7 Million Haircut
